Dear feminist friends, dear members,
As we welcome a new year, we carry the weight of challenges that demand courage, resilience, and solidarity.
In a world grappling with wars that tear families apart, shatter lives and communities, with too many conflicts where women’s bodies continue to be used as battlegrounds, and rape employed as a weapon of war, with deepfakes that distort and manipulate truths and erode trust, a climate crisis that lacks a gender-transformative model, and a backlash against the hard-fought rights of women, together, let us reaffirm our commitment to justice, and equality, as we are reminded of the unyielding strength of collective action and hope.
May the year to come, be one where we reiterate our commitment to justice and equality and continue to amplify women’s voices silenced by oppression, as in Iran or Afghanistan.
As we step into a new year, let us commit to championing freedom, and to dismantling the systemic barriers that perpetuate gender-based violence and inequality.
Let us stand united against the use of rape as a weapon of war for all women, ensuring that survivors receive justice and that such crimes are no longer met with silence or impunity, may it be in Ukraine, Soudan, for the victims of October 7 in Israel, or anywhere else in the world.
Let us also work tirelessly toward a world where wars and conflicts, as in Ukraine, Gaza, Soudan, Yemen, Syria, and anywhere else are no longer waged.
Let us confront the climate crisis with bold action, where we tackle and establish the links between climate challenges and gender-based violence in policies, fostering women’s participation, investing in prevention and protection.
In the face of war, climate crises, and technologies like deepfakes that seek to undermine truth and freedom, we must remain resolute in protecting the most vulnerable and holding oppressors accountable.
Together, let us rewrite narratives, reshape systems, and reimagine a world where no one’s dignity is compromised, and person’s rights are upheld and safeguarded because together, we can build a world that values peace, dignity, and the unyielding power of solidarity.
Let us turn our anger into action, our grief into strength, and our solidarity into meaningful solutions.
Wishing you strength, courage, freedom, peace, happiness and most importantly a good health for you and your loved ones for 2025
